What are you? Are you a male or a female? What is your hair color? Eye color? Height? Do you need to wear glasses? Do you have any control over the answers to any of these questions? No, you don’t. So why stress over what you are when you can’t do anything about that? God created you just the way you are. As you live through your life, people are going tell you that it is okay to change your gender, have sex with both sexes, and genetically modify you or your kids. However, what does the Bible have to say about all this? As you read the Bible, you will find that God created you perfectly. The way God created you is the way you are meant to be.
First, let’s start with the fact that God is sovereign, pure, perfect, and holy. To be a perfect creation, you need a perfect creator. Before the beginning, only God existed. After the earth was created, God existed. Since then, He has existed and will always exist. God’s name is Yahweh, which means “He will be.” Since God has always been around, He knows what is best for you. Therefore, you are created just the way God planned for you to be.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31 KJV
Since the Lord knows you best, God said you are fearfully and wonderfully made. When you were in your mother’s womb, you were being put together by God. As God created you, He knew what you were going to do in this life, and He created you according to that plan. There is a reason why you have a certain hair color, eye color, height, character quality. If you live the call that God has given you, you will find out, whether in this life or the next. Surely, He Who is all knowing knew how to put you together for later in life! Your personality and even physical characteristics will be used by God to help you do His work when you are in alignment with God’s plans.
I once heard the story of a woman who was born with brown eyes while her siblings had blue eyes. As she grew up, she despised the fact that God gave her brown eyes, but later in life, God called her to be a missionary to a place in which everyone had brown eyes. If she had blue eyes, she may have been rejected making it more difficult to witness to those around her.
You may be ashamed of that hobby or talent you have. Having that weird characteristic could shame you, leaving you upset. However, God made you you with a plan and a purpose! If you feel afraid of showing your true self, don’t be. Keep changing yourself to be godlier but not to be less unique! Your personality or physical traits could very well be used for God and His glory someday!
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. Psalms 139:13-16 KJV
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:5-6 KJV
Now that you know that you are created in a specific way for a specific purpose, you must realize that God did not make any mistake in your sex or other physical part of your body. For example, I am an Asian-American male with a medium tanned skin and dark brown hair. If you said that I was a woman trapped in a man’s body, I would think that statement is ridiculous. Since God created me as a male, I was meant to be a male – not a female. To claim that you are non-binary, the opposite gender of your sex, or anything else you are not is to declare that God did not create you the way that you were meant to be. If you want to add or remove parts of your body to give you the “perfect look,” look back at Who made you – Yahweh: He was, is, and always will be. You don’t need to change yourself to be more eye-pleasing or be the opposite sex.
When you were conceived, you were designed as either a male or female, and God made the man for the woman and the woman for the man. The person that God has for you in marriage will not be the same sex as you. When you marry the one God has for you, you two will complete each other with Jesus at the center. Don’t try to change your gender or your sexuality; you are created just the way God wants you to be.
Please note that I am not discouraging keeping your fitness, but rather, God created you to be as healthy and fit as you can. However, the Lord did not give you a heterosexually designed body to switch to homosexuality or sex chromosomes to change yourself to look the opposite of what they say.
When people criticize who you are as a Christian or any physical body trait, remember that you are beautiful in the eyes of your Creator: Yahweh. If you trust the Lord, He will help you to see your beauty. While you will be put down in life, always take Psalm 139 to heart believing that the Lord is all-powerful and knew exactly how to design you. God has a plan and a purpose with your body! Never forget those words.
Have a great day!
PARA LA GLORIA DEL SEÑOR,
