Why Coincidences Never Occur

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

You're having a miserable time in life, or you are simply just having a bad day. Rather, maybe you are all right, and you don't have much troubling you. Despite what the specific circumstance may be, some event occurs at just the right moment to make the day better when you least expect it. In conclusion, this is just a coincidence. Thanks for reading this blog post; we're done. NO! There are no coincidences in life. How can this be? Well, the Lord has an answer this question from my favorite book - the Bible!

First of all, what is a coincidence? According to Google Dictionary, a coincidence is "a remarkable concurrence of events or circumstances without apparent causal connection." For such an event to happen is impossible.

All things work together for the good to them that love God according to Romans 8:28. I know that I've used this verse before, but it's now in a different context. Anyway, as a result of this promise, all corresponding incidents are planned out to happen on just the right day at just the right time for your good.

Several times in my life, I've come across instances when I was just irritated or down for one reason or another or even just doing okay. For example, in the beginning of this month, I was physically and emotionally weak, and I was listening to Christian worship music and relying on God. In the midst of this difficult situation, my siblings who were also in the car at the time spotted my friend J. I rolled down the window and spoke to him. Those couple minutes of conversation with J really enlightened my mood. In reality, that could not have just happened; it had to have been the Lord. When I needed encouragement, the Lord caused J to drive on the same road at the same time.

One point I would like to spotlight is that when I saw J, I was praising the Lord and relying on Him. When we turn our reliance onto Him, He will help us in every aspect of life. By relying on God, you show your love for Him. While the situation might not change for the better right away or at all, the Lord will give you a change in your mood and give you His peace and joy. Every event, whether it changes the situation or just your mood, is planned out for your good.

Next time some sort of event happens to make your day better, remember that the Lord planned it to happen for your good; it's not some sort of coincidence. Also, when you are going through a trial, rely on the Lord by praising Him and praying to Him. While doing so, look for every change in your mood and remember that God planned it all and give Him the glory.
